From Bob to Barack

Greetings!

Today is Bob Marley’s 63rd birthday. Robert Nestor Marley was born in St. Ann’s Parish in Jamaica. This legendary musician not only brought reggae to global prominence, he also was a tireless advocate for the downtrodden and the disenfranchised. His musical messages spoke against injustice, called people to action, and routinely reminded people that we are all one people.any consider him a modern day prophet.

Does this sound familiar?

Barack Obama may not be able to carry a tune, but his message is still the same. Better education and affordable healthcare for all; people from all walks of life coming together to resolve global issues; messages of hope. I am in awe when I hear some of the most unlikely people speak of him in such reverent tones.

Who knew that we would see Bob Marley's message reinvent themselves in a presidential race?

So I thought it only fitting to celebrate two men – both products of a biracial union, who have and will continue to deliver a powerful message.

Happy Birthday Bob Marley! Congratulations on taking 13 states Barack Obama!

With that I wish you all the best today and always.

G
